Patrick Boutet

Swiss Chief Representative

In November 2008, Patrick joined MS Frontier Re as Chief Representative of the Swiss Branch Office in Zurich, Switzerland. Patrick brings to MS Frontier 35 years of worldwide reinsurance experience in non-proportional underwriting & reinsurance broking.

He was actively involved in the successful underwriting and development of the Worldwide XL Treaty Reinsurance Account of Abeille-Paix Réassurances in Paris, France. From 1985, he was also involved in the launch of reinsurance operations for various companies, the most recent being in 2000 with Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe Limited, Paris. There he launched the profitable Property Cat and Risk European/MEA XL account, which subsequently merged in 2006 with Liberty Syndicates Management Limited.

Takayuki Ishii

General Manager - Corporate Planning

Takayuki Ishii joined MSIG in 2000, as part of the marketing department for construction industry and then retail market. In 2006 he was appointed as an International Trainee of the Reinsurance Training Program then joined Reinsurance Department. His main responsibilities in Reinsurance Department were planning of group-wide inward reinsurance business strategy and combining both support and control within the reinsurance subsidiaries of MSIG.

Takayuki joined MS Frontier Re Modeling Research Pte. Ltd. in April 2010 as General Manager in charge of corporate planning. He brings to the company an excellent knowledge of modeling and managerial skills.

He is a graduate of Bachelor of Law from The University of Tokyo and a Certified Public Accountant in the U.S.A. (inactive). He is also a Certified Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultant in Japan.

Emmanuel Thommen

Commercial Representative

Emmanuel brings to MS Frontier Re 30 years of European Reinsurance experience in both proportional and non proportional treaty underwriting.

He began his career at Swiss Re in Zurich, then worked with several Swiss Insurance Companies: Zurich, Helvetia (where he was also involved in outgoing Reinsurance) and Winterthur as active Reinsurer, acquiring and developing a profitable portfolio mainly in Southern European countries.

In 1999, he started working for a French Mutual Group (Covea-MMA-GMF) in Strasbourg extending his scope of activities to the German speaking countries and Benelux before joining Bel Re as CUO with the objective to develop the international reinsurance business of this small Reinsurance Captive belonging to the Belgian Mutual Insurance Group Ethias.

Andreas Zell

General Manager & Director

Andreas joined MS Frontier Re Modeling Research Pte Ltd in September 2009. He is responsible for managing the Cat modeling service and research-related areas.

Andreas is an Actuary, and has been in the Reinsurance industry since 1994. He has worked for various Reinsurers in Switzerland and Singapore, where he has held a range of positions in Pricing, Reserving and Risk Management. Besides his extensive actuarial experience, Andreas has also held some non-actuarial positions, mainly in Underwriting, where he took full responsibility for a number of Reinsurance markets in the Asia/Pacific region.

Andreas holds a Masters in Actuarial Science from the University of Basel/Switzerland. He is a Full Member (Fellow) of the Swiss Association of Actuaries and an Associate Member of the Singapore Actuarial Society.
